The owner-manager is a force of nature, full of fun and mischief – and very proud of what she and her partner have managed to achieve. He is a collector (of absolutely everything) and together they have kitted out the coffee shop, shop and guesthouse with finds. And awesome stuff is it too. Cars out the back (a lovely old Morris Post Office van and a Hillman Minx), church organs, railway nostalgia and the largest (and most eclectic) model car collection this side of the Orange River. By day Carolise concentrates on the coffee shop that has become the magnet for locals and the odd adventurer who turns ofF the N5.
